I think they can train an animal to react to words. For example, My jack Russel loves a walk and we call it a 'W' (for Walk). He recognizes this now and gets exited. I could say I could whisper something to cheer the dog up, knell down and whisper 'W' in his ear. He would be happy and I would seem to be a phychic person. However, I do believe in some phychic activity with dogs and humans. My aunt has a dog who always desperately trys to get outside 5 mins before she gets back from work. She gets back at random times (Hours difference each time). The dog wouldn't hear because I have great hearing and I never hear her come in and the dog is deaf, but he always knows...

Nah- science has actually proven several "whisperers" wrong. Analyzing brain scans and judging activity in certain centers (pain, hungry, sexual, etc) vs. what the psychic says the animal is feeling. These so called psychics never preform better statistically than a simple guess would.
However, you can learn to read your animals behavior to get the gist of what your animal is thinking.

I don't believe in the whisperer concept. Though animals go nuts over my brother. He can handle the meanest dog with on problem, and horses and cows walk up to him with no fear. I believe it is a gifted personality. He is a vary successful nurse in adolescent physiology.

I doubt it. Most animals just tell us how they feel through their behavior. Whisperers just pay attention to that and try to sound like they're experts, but it seems like common sense to me.
Anyone can tame a dog, cat, etc.

That being the case, Hon, it's not what I think. It's what my dog or cat thinks.
