an ace in tennis is a single-stroke point won by the server who produces a (legal) service that his opponent does not touch with his racket and thus fails to return.

An ace is a serve made within the boundary lines and unreturned by the opposing player. Today, some tennis players serve aces in the range of 120 mph or even more

An ace is an okay serve(where the ball drops within the service lines)and is untouched by the receiving player.Players resort to either great speed or a great placement(like a serve turning away from the other player) to serve aces.

yes you're right. an ace is a serve that is never touched by the returner. Usually aces are very close to the lines, so that it is nearly impossible to return it. a lot of times you see a serve which looks like an ace, but is tipped (out of play) off the racket of the returner. This would not be an ace because it was touched.

It is when a player serves a ball (that is in) and is unable to be hit by his/her opponent.

A ball that is hit, but not returned is NOT an ace.
