You know I often wonder about this. When good things happen in America you often hear, "It could only happen in America,' yet America is one of the few countries in the Western world, where in the year 2006 we are still wondering whether an African American or a woman can become president. There is no doubt that America is a great country, but it has become so, chiefly because it has managed over the years to become wealthy and can offer good salaries to professional people it has been able to attract mainly from third world countries which train them in the first place. These countries train them and America reaps the benefits. Very interesting question.

Well any intelligent person does not believe his/her country is perfect. Being a Canuck, I've been to the States many times, and I can tell you that all the Yankees I've met are a friendly, outgoing bunch,and they know that the States has problems, just like any other country on earth.
Therefore, to avoid any American bashing from the Peanut Gallery, I respectfully suggest the following: We have a global party. Everyone come to North America; the States can provide the bourbon, Canada the whiskey, Scotland the Scotch, and we have one hell of a big party.

Arrogance!They are the richest country in the world and as a matter of fact,money equals power which makes them think they are the best!Furthermore,they are more technologically advanced than almost any other country on the planet and they have a great military force...All these factors and many more give them the ''right'' to consider themselves the most perfect country in the world...They are the most racist one,by the way!They are not well educated and informed about other countries' history,culture and evolution and they're just taught about their realisations and their own ''glorious'' history,so they think it's them and nobody else!Since the very beginning of their history as a nation they've been becoming greedier and greedier,willing to do anything to gain power and control over others....I don't blame the American people though..just their ''system''...

Americans do not think that.It is only because of the various achivements of USA ithe last some decades that it has now becomed the most perfect country in the world. This is a universal truth. Weather u like it or not,u have to accept it.

Whatever country I am in is the best one, which happens to be America, haha, Anyway alot of people and nations are proud of their people and nation, whats wrong with that? What country do you think is best? I have never been out of this country America so how can I judge.
Its also called patriotism. Ever heard of it? So many people want to live here, go to college here, there are more oppurtunities for them, and they are not Americans. Whats your probelm?

Because they have the biggest and (best?) Military, Economy and (most important) Entertainment industry. Give those big three to another country and I guarantee that THEY will think they are the man!

Americans think their country is the best to live in because....
They haven't been to Australia. Otherwise hey'drealise that America is only almost as good.
