According to the book "What to expect when you're expecting", the 5th month starts with the 18th week and ends at week 22. The 6th month starts at 23 weeks and ends at 27 weeks. The 7th month starts at 28 weeks and ends at 31 weeks. The 8th month starts at 32 weeks and ends at 35 weeks. And the 9th month goes from week 36 to week 40. This is what I have been going by and it matches my doctor's chart.
So yes, you are 5 months pregnant.

Actually yes and no...Technically there are 40 weeks from you LMP to birth...but you did not concive on your LMP. So that means that you can be 5 months but the baby is still around 1-2 weeks behind you. And technically pregnancy is 9 full months...which is the same as 10 months- while we mothers to be see 9 months as the first day of the 9th month to be the end. I know how your feeling right about now since I'm 24 weeks and 4 days. Don't focus so much on counting the days but try to focus on the growth of the baby...like when you can feel it kicking, first softly and then stronger, the hiccups and stuff like that. Remember a baby is more than just a date. Good luck!

Who created this stupid pregnancy time table anyways? It should have been saying 10 months since the beginning of time. Go ahead and say you are 5 months because if you are 20 weeks then you are. Towards the end of your pregnancy when people ask how far along you are, just tell them how many weeks you have left. That way, you wont sound funny saying 9 and a half months!

Yes you are 5 months pregnant. Pregnancy does last 38/40 weeks but when you are 4 weeks pregnant really you have only been pregnant for 2. Don't worry about semantics just enjoy being pregnant and good luck.

20 weeks it 4.6 months. A full term is 40 weeks which is 9.2 months.
(A month isn't 4 weeks, it is a bit more).
In reality, pregnancy is only 38 weeks long, from conception to birth, but it is too hard to estimate exactly when conception took place, so they just time it from the date of the last period and add two weeks to make the grand total of 40.

Hey, Congrats on your pregnancy!
Nope, your not 5 months. More like 4 months.
A pregnancy is usually 40 weeks long, which means it's technically 10 months long! So really, Im afraid your not even really 4 months pregnant if you look at a pregnancy as being 10 months long :(
