Hi. They seem the same but they are very different. Fantasizing is like imagining something that you would like to happen. It may or may not be possible to happen in real life, but more often than not we fantasize mostly on things that are very unlikely to happen in our life. We have full control of what we fantasize about and we can manipulate every detail. Hallucinating or having hallucinations is very different. We do not have control over what we seem to see, hear or feel during hallucinations. And hallucination is brought about by factors outside our rational mind. Meaning you are not rational when having hallucinations. Hallucinations may occur if you are high on drugs, on strong medications, fatigued or too stressed out, in a traumatic incident/accident , no sleep, drunk, having a high grade fever, or you have a brain disease. Hope it helps.

fantasizing is thinking ...what if...hallucinating is thinking something is that may not be...let me give you an example.

fantasizing is thinking the government will understand working individuals need and should be entitled to more of what they legitimately earn through less taxes and less burdensome regulation so that they can fend for themselves and not have to worry about the entire village hillary speaks so highly of.

hallucinating is thinking that the pelosi/reid regime give a rats rear about you and your family and are going to do anything at all to retreat from their tax and spend philosophy to do anything about what you have been fantasizing about.

Very simply, you are in control of fantasizing while you cannot control hallucinating.

When you fantasize, you incorporate your fantasy within your reality. However, when you hallucinate your hallucination becomes your reality!

Good Luck!

My guess .. fantasizing is done consciously, meaning one has control over their fantasies'. Hallucinating is an altered state of conscience over which one has no control.

i think when you're fantasizing, you're somewhat daydreaming or something like that but it's because you yourself want to do it. When you're hallucinating, i think you see stuff(like illusions) because of some sort of disorder or sickness and maybe because of drugs..
