I am wanting to get Vista on my computer. I just got it custom built but could not afford at the time 100 extra to get a new system put in it (had a copy of XP Pro).

But i want to try to get the deal where you buy Pro or Home and get the Vista.

Ok here's my question and its in 2 parts.

1. What does Tech Vista upgrade mean? Does it mean i get a cupon and send it in for a full copy of Vista? Is it free?\

2. I once thought of geting XP 64 bit. My computer is a 64 bit computer. I saw for 130.00 or so, a XP 64 bit with Vista tech upgrade for sale. If i were to buy this would i get the 64 bit Vista with it?

please let me know any information you can on this.

http://www.tigerdirect.com has the upgrade Vista that is coming out on 1/30/07. You can preorder it now. They also have a Toll Free Number you can call and they will answer your questions. The standard upgrade is $99.00, about the same as anyone else. They also have the more expensive upgrades (not much more and more functions included) Go to their site and you can read what they are offering, It was in my inbox this morning as I am on their *mailing* list

Maybe in Window's site, there are upgrading deals. I went to that site but i disagree because maybe that can harm my pc or the files will be vanished. Try to go to this site= http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/getready/systemrequirements.mspx. They have requirements.
