Roger Federer of SWITZERLAND is the best tennis player in the Open era, he's just unstoppable, who could ever beat him at this moment? i reckon he will surpass Pete Sampras of UNITED STATES as the most Grand Slam winner. (Pete Sampras has won 14 Grand Slam titles)

Lots of people here reckon so, but they are missing an important point. Federer is a great player but he has no real competition - no-one else who plays in this era will be remembered when they are gone.
Samapras was a better player in almost every respect, the best serve ever and a forehand that Fed can only dream about. Sampras excelled in an era FULL of all-time greats - Becker, Agassi, Muster, Lendl, Edberg. All of these players will be remembered as among the best ever, yet Sampras eclipsed them all so he has to be the best.
However, in terms of TALENT there can only be one choice - the ONLY man to win ALL FOUR grand slam events on four different surfaces....
ANDRE!

Maybe. He has yet to win a Grand Slam though. If he wins the French at Roland Garros and goes on to win a Slam then yes he is the greatest ever

No. We keep forgetting Bjorn Borg, who played in an error where Conners, McEnroe, and Lendl were at their peaks. I don't care if Fed wins the next 20 grand slams, w/o any competition it doesn't mean anything.

he will be. once he wins the french open, who can deny him that title? pete sampras never won that particular grand slam. just as rod laver said in his interview with star sports, federer has every single shot known to tennis in his repertoire and he can execute all of them excellently.
his backhand used to be his achilles heel, but look at it now. he's ripping backhand winners down the line with ease. clay used to be his weak surface, but I'm pretty sure he'll work on that and nadal will have no chance then.

No, he is one of the great of all time. But he needs to be judged at the end of his career, not on the middle of it. He is a great player, no doubt about that. But let the course of time tell.

YES.
By the time his career is over, there won't be any room for any debate as there 'might' be now (with some people).
We are truly witnessing the greatest ever right before our very eyes!
