Be rational and skeptical about your feelings, which are your friends, but they are too active in keeping you from taking any risk.
Night time itself will not hurt you, only people can hurt you. You've kept your job this far, so its not going away tomorrow. Guys won't bite your head off if you talk to them. You will get through this. Problems are not disasters. If you are young, you'll survive for several more decades, somehow. The future is unknown, and you cannot control it. It's the attempt to CONTROL that scares you. If you give that up, fear will probably go away.

Fear creates more fear. The best way to conquer fear is to take action against it. Thinking about the fear will only make it seem worse. However, taking action against fear is easier said than done.
Take this lesson to heart. Your results are a product of your actions. Your actions are a product of your habits. Your habits are a product of your philosophies. Make sense?
Here's an example: You see a cute guy across the room and you want to talk to him. You're scared, so you decide not to. You end up going home disappointed in yourself for not talking to that cute guy and asking fo rhis number.
In this situation, your result is that you end up going home by yourself without the guy's phone number. This is cause by your action, or rather, inaction to go and talk to him. Your inaction to talk to him is a result of your philosophy about relationships (i.e. Maybe speaking to boys just isn't worth the trouble; I'm fearful, so I will not speak to him; Since I care enough about the humiliation of being rejected, and since I might get rejected by him, I think I'll pass this time and go home without my feelings possibly being hurt).
To change your results, you must first change your actions. To change your actions, you must change your philosophies. How do you change your philosophies, you ask? You can start off by reading "How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie.

Do you get hurt at night on a regular basis or is your fear unfounded or unreasonable? The first would tell you not to be afraid because the odds are against it happening and the second might need to be explored by a professional.

You are really not alone.Jesus is right their with you.Talk to Him.And if you are not saved just say Jesus forgive my sins and come into my heart. And He will do what He promised and come into your heart and give you peace and love like you never have felt in your life. That is the way I felt and He gave me the strength to go on.And also you will live forever with Jesus in heaven when you die. But you really have to go down deep and say these words from your heart.Great question.I will pray for you.lol

Sounds like you really need to seek out professional counseling. However, I will leave you with this message. The only way to really overcome any fear is to face it.
A good therapist can help you explore these fears and diffuse them.
My prayers are with you. Good luck!

I use my mental powers, put a thin strip of aluminum foil inside all of your hats, the others from "Planet #7" will contact you from the "Mother Ship", these feelings will subside when you are safely on board, and heading back home, you are just "Home Sick", Hyperspace will bring you peace, and that really hot "Blue chic" from "Farscape" will bring you a drink.

Those all sound like rational fears to me. You have to face one fear at a time. Just FACE the fear head on. Once you conqure one, then another, and another... you'll be fearless.
