Does anyone know who sings the song. it goes something like this....

And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon,
Little boy blue and the man 'n the moon.
'When you comin' home?'
'Son, I don't know when. We'll get together then.
You know we'll have a good time then.'

All my friends say its by Guns N' Roses but It doesn't sound like them.

Harry Chapin - Cat's in the Cradle from the Album Verities & Balderdash 1973

Covers
The song was later recorded by Johnny Cash, Ricky Skaggs, Finn Kalvik, Ugly Kid Joe, and Mandy Patinkin. Many people mistakenly believe the song to be by the artist Cat Stevens, including many downloaders of a mis-titled MP3 version. Jack Black also played part of the song in a Saturday Night Live sketch. Black's character claimed the song was by Yusuf Islam, a.k.a. Cat Stevens. A Cat Stevens fan web site states that Stevens has never performed the song, "not live, not in the studio, and not even privately."[citation needed] In 2006, rapper DMC released a new song and video, "Just Like Me," that uses guitar samples and chorus from "Cat's in the Cradle," with the chorus sung by Sarah McLachlan. The video has a credit and gratitudes to Harry Chapin and the Chapin Family at the end.

On the Internet, the song's performer is often claimed to be Guns N' Roses. This is erroneous, as the band has never recorded a cover of the song, nor played it live. Usually it is the Ugly Kid Joe version which is believed to be performed by Guns N' Roses.
