Shovelkic--is right you don't have to remove the engine, you just use jacks to support the engine. As for the cost amount it depends on the type of engine, car, and if it's front wheel or rear wheel drive. Figure parts cost at $50 per mount with tax, $100 per link, and $200 labor. Most rear wheel drives will be around $350, most front wheel drives will be $400.00

The engine does not have to be removed. 99.99% of vehicles you can support the engine, unbolt the mounts, slightly life the engine and replace the mounts.
