from the above websites, there are no president who is an african american. Why is that so? They are all caucasians.

Personally, i hope Mr Barack Obama wins the election. At least, someone will really look into the welfare and rights of non-caucasians.

What do you think/feel?

Well, keep in mind that until about 40 years ago, blacks were completely oppressed. They had rights legally, but a lot of people didn't think they were equal.

Today, that generation is old, and the younger, more tolerant generations are moving in. The U.S. is becoming more tolerable of all people who are not white men. Yes, there are still areas in the U.S. where people believe that, because of their skin color or gender, they are superior/inferior to others. I pray these feeling will soon die out.

I beliebe that the U.S. is really for a black man or a woman to become President. While I will not vote for him/her just because we've never had a non-white, non-male President, these people will open up the job more to others, and if one of them is elected, they will indeed be a ground breaker for the part of society that still holds it's racial/gender bias.

I think one of the reasons we have not had a Black president is that we have never had a black candidate who was perceived to represent everyone. This country was set up on the principals of if you don't work, you don't eat and if your poor it is your own fault not somebody elses to begin with. If there was a black candidate who came across as being a broad minded individual with the best interests of the entire nation at heart and not with a pigeon hole focus on the rights of certain groups I would be more than happy to vote for him. Draft Colin Powell for President!

I think he may pull it off but not for the right reasons. I'm sorry but just being black isn't enough qualification to be the big cheese of the country.
