If you have a house and do refrain from doing any household work, then your house will be the dirtiest house that there is on the block.
However, if you do care about your own house then you should not refrain from doing any household work.
My response to you is this: No. The women should not refrain from doing the household work.
Conde.

No. The women should not refrain from household work provided that the men should participate in some household activity to help out.
That is my response and my advise.
Best of luck

If a woman is a part of a team, why should either party refrain from doing the things that keep the household going? I say that she should only refrain on special days when she is being treated like a queen by her children or husband.

Depends on the situation. A woman and man can both do housework. But if a woman or man has a broken foot, then how will they do it? Or if the woman works 80 hours per week and the husband doesn't work and there are no kids, then why can't he vaccuum the floor? Or maybe they both work and so they hire a maid instead. It all depends. Women and men should do what they are all comfortable doing, which is decided upon by the individuals in question.

Nope, nobody should refrain from household work whether man or woman. If you don't try to build a pleasant home then you're a slob who lives in filthy dirt, plain and simple. Dismissing household work is a lot like being a homeless person who lives in a dirty alley. If you pay rent and/or bills to maintain the space you live in, then you should take care of it. If you don't, then you should stop wasting money and live in a dirty alley. Living by yourself will teach you this. Your home is your castle, it is your choice to make it one or not.

Very strange question - sounds like you're looking for ammunition in an argument to me!
But anyway, my view is that all members of a household should play an equal part in keeping it clean, tidy and a nice place to live.

I’m gay and live with a guy. So when it comes to housework we just have to get on with it. I think in a straight relationship both people should do housework. They’re both messing the place, so both should clean it.

This is going to get me killed, but I used to have five retail store's here in the San Francisco bay area. I sold a poster that said only"FUKC Housework (or something like that). It was so hot, I could not keep it in stock. I'd be glad to start up my webcam, just to show you what a disinterested housekeeper that I am. So my answer is...maybe...unless children are involved.
