once the baby is out, he or she should cry and if not then he is made to cry by nurse/Doctor at that time... this is necessary for baby's respiration system..
So the baby who started his respiration system/breathing first among the twins is the elder one...This is the exact calculation for identifying the elder one among the twins/triplets

I dont think most of the people above have correctly understood your question I think I have. The answer is that your cannot tell scientifically at this point of time as there has not been a need. You have to rely on the records of the delivery team. They will/should note the time of each birth and one born first is obviously the older usually by minutes and sometimes few hours. Hope this answers your question

huh? Twins appeared one after another form the womb. i have 2 pairs of twin friends, one is older than the other by 3-4 hours, another by 20 minutes. The doctors had records of the time each were delivered, then first one out wins! and was rewarded a price of being an elder brother.

Certainly, that the one that comes out of the mother s womb first should be considerd the elder, as the age starts from that moment sounds quite logical. The seniority should be based on time of delivery rather than time of conception.

not sure I got your question right....but I think you mean who's oldest after delivery. The one who was delivered first would be oldest.Because the time on the birth certificate would be earlier than the other twins.

Before delivery request the doctor to note the identification of the baby who first comes out and later the next one, since the doctor , nurses only will be in the labour room.

Hi ...
it's very interesting and greatness of nature ...
the first head which has come out or seen is considered to be the eldest of the both ...
and also if u believe in astrology , the first one's astrology will be different to the second one , however they might look alike ...
Regards
Ravi.

The twin who is born first is the eldest. The babies come out one at a time, not together.

You mean if you loose track of who came first and then you want to determine who is elder... Well simply ask them the time they were born at and the one who is telling the earlier time is the elder one.. ;-)

The child who gets out first is younger, the one who follows is elder! (logic is, first conceived, gets inside berth, later conceived gets outer berth (comes out sooner!))
