I consider myself a liberal. I am honest, caring and love my family. Why do conservatives tend to dislike me?

I also respect old traditional American values but I will voice my opinion with anything I don't agree with. Is it so hard to have the entire country............. or better yet the world united? What is wrong with all you hateful people out there? Come to my house, I know I can get you to care again or for the first time.

well a republican will probably call you a hippy because you believe in peace instead of war. also they will call you anti-american because you don't follow along blindly without asking questions. and they will call you a hypocrite because you are a democrat and because you believe in peace your suppose to let them call you names and not retaliate by pointing out that they are hateful. and also because there are two types of conservatives the first is the party leaders who use their politics to make money and the second is the one being lead by the party leaders who pray on their bigotry, racism and ignorance.

After reading your question and a few of the other "liberal " answers, I'll give it a shot.

1. Caring isn't confined to Liberalism. The majority of donors to relief and aid organizations are conservative based.

2. Voicing your opinion isn't confined to Liberalism. A true conservative recognizes every Americans first amendments right and protects it vigorously.

3. Uniting the whole world is confined to Liberalism. Conservatives don't want to take care of the whole world or subsidize it's citizenry.

Last and perhaps it should have been first. Your assumption that "you know what's good for conservatives and others". This is [unfortunately] a common belief among liberals.

The belief that "our established doctrine" is correct and "yours" isn't has led to laws [or attempts at laws] "Banning Spanking [Calif], Removing the rights of parents in schools [Calif 9th circuit], Rewarding misbehavior with diplomas [Florida public schools]] among a plethora of other socio-monetary polices that erode other citizens rights.

In a nutshell I guess the short answer has to do with "Glass houses and Rocks."

Well you are making a blanket statement about Conservatives.

I happen to be a conservative and life long republican, many of my best friends can be best be labeled as pretty left of center. hell my best political foil was a Jewish Gay history professor from Scotland who was extremely far left. We had the best debates and arguments ever, and he still owes me a Beer.

The Conservatives your talking about are like a lot of liberals, they don't care to think about anything out side their own world view. if you challenge their views they lower them self's to verbal insults and don't wish to engage in meaningful dialog.

I think the vast majority of people are fairly rational, but it's the screaming idiots who every one notices and remembers.

For example the only Dems I tend to recall are the ones who screamed at me that I was a racist for talking about immigration control (my whole family are immigrants, I am first generation American, So I have a pretty good understanding of the topic, and have a personal stake in the matter). does that mean I see all libs as screaming fools talking out their butts? nope, just the ones who don't think I am allowed to have a personal opinion on matters.

Look around, you will find plenty of Conservatives with the "live and let live" mentality.

The conservatives you are talking about don't care how good a person or how loyal of an American you are. If we won't toe the party line of worship the rich and kill innocent people than we are traitors to them. With less than 30% support from the American people they are losing power, refuse to admit when they are wrong, and can't justify their words or actions. So until this group of radical fascists wake up and smell the coffee don't worry what a group of arrogant losers think.

extremely, i'm a liberal, i'm straightforward, and that i'm a patriot. also, we are not bashing the U. S. after we criticize a number of its rules or leaders, and we do not criticize battling terror, both. We only criticize invading a rustic that became less than no circumstances to blame for attacks on US soil quite of going after the numerous wrongdoer (bin encumbered, no longer Saddam Hussein). through the way, were Bush and Cheney telling the actuality even as they insisted that there have been WMDs in Iraq? became Rumsfeld being straightforward even as, interior 5 HOURS after the 9/11 attacks, he ordered his crew to locate as a lot "data" as attainable linking Iraq to the attacks?

I am a liberal with a good heart too, and I agree it is exhausting to be judged so harshly and sometimes damned to hell for my views...conservatives tend to be reactionary and unable to handle a debate, for they can only see on side. *sigh*

One reason is because of the sentiments in your last sentence. It's that whole 'I'm better and more caring than you' mentality. Yes, there are a lot of superior and hatefilled people out there. Sometimes they just disguise it with their "kind" words.

You don't seem to be very honest.

The most dispicable and obnoxious people in America are about 90% left- and 10% right-wing. I'm not talking about the population but those with public forums to speak out, like politicians, journalists, radio and television personalities, performing artists and professional demonstrators.

Almost all of the name-calling, racist remarks, hate-rallies and character assassination comes from liberals.

If you haven't noticed this, you're not paying attention.

It's not that we as conservatives dislike YOU, we go with the odds. If you're liberal, there's a very high probability that you're one of the morons running our country into the gutter, and if you identify with them, there's no difference except that you may not be as loud.

If you don't like the bad press, be yourself. If you want to improve the world, start by cleaning up your own back yard.
