It has happened to me and to other people. When a week or more has passed, I could not for the life of me remember what the woman looked like, only that she was attractive and I had feelings for her. But my memory of other people I hadn't seen in 5 or 10 years was fine. Is this a phenom with other people? Has it happened to any of you? Why is this so?

Actually - it's very common... Men are visually stimulated...
Can you ever remember what a person in a pornographic picture looks like? Didn't think so... your brain goes off on a tangent and forgets all the details when you're stimulated.
You have to spend time around people to remember their features... you actually need a chance to settle down and "normalize" with them.

Yup...he visited me a couple of days ago and now I seriously couldnt remember what he looked like. Actually it was kinda embarrassing the first time he came over with his friend, I looked over at his friend and say 'Hi Jake', he looks at me and goes 'I'm over here'. I felt like such a fool!
Maybe we forget bcoz we want to forget or we feel like we are not interested in them anymore.
At first I couln't remeber his face but while he was away we got talking again and now I can sorta remember what he looks like ....

my Dear who told you to joing this love issue, it is something different true love and someone your heart desires to have always after she left you, your heart not your mind will always remember her and it hurts alot this is a common rule in love stories in real life if the love is true and for honest and real emotions and feelings if it is for un truth u may forget her soon and u can find some one else, but try to change your mind and find some one else if you can if not you will turn like me like a room without walls and like car without fuel and so so so so u will turn so much a lone silent and different from others

Maybe you are not a visual learner- you rely more on kinesthetic (touch) and auditory qualities. for example, do you remember things you said or something that requires senses other than sight?
otherwise, it could be that her personality is more important to your mind and perception of her than her visual attributes.
