Do they have all the answers already? Are they not curious about anything? Do they not care what anyone else thinks? How can a person not have some questions? Isn't life full of mysteries and dilemmas?

I do not have all the answers all the time.
I look up the dictionary, encyclopedia, internet, etc.
It is sometimes better than asking others who might give wrong answers to my questions.
However, having said that, I must add that several people have given me great helpful answers before. Answers which I did not have the time to look for myself, or perhaps not having found the ones that need my own requirements.
With so many questions being asked every minute second all the time, I would rather answer those I think I have the answer to.
At least in some way or other, I am doing a helpful deed.

I don't ask any questions, because I know a great deal to begin with. That which I don't know, I can find within 4-5 mouse clicks. I don't need any stranger's help. So from my POV, I answer questions to help those that DO need said stranger's help.
OR, to make fun of nitwits that ask dumb questions. It's fun while I have my morning coffee.
And yes to anwser your question, as far as what someone else thinks, I grew up genuinely not caring about others' opinions, and I remain that way to this day. It's one of my defining personality traits in fact. Is individualism a bad thing these days? If so, count me a bad bad little man.

They might do the research and look up the answers for themselves. Many of the questions posted here seem more rhetorical and are an excuse to state an opinion rather than a genuine request for factual information.

Asking questions costs points. Creating a throwaway account on yahoo takes five minutes and you can ask 20 questions before you need a new one. So why bother?

Maybe they are the type to only ask questions that they feel would be worth someone elses time to answer.

Maybe they learn their answers by looking into the Q&A of others.

Why do you ask?

I prefer to do my own research. Sure I've got questions, but a quick wikipedia search usually clears them up.
