Are all (heterosexual) men aroused (attain an erection) when they think about a girl they like or a womans naked body or do some actually need manual stimulation to their penis to get an erection- is this uncommon?

Men are easily aroused by sight, hence the naked body or parts of a woman. But also by fantasizing about a girl. Manual stimulation is the result of fullfillment when the actual intercouse is not achieved.

Maybe the older you get the more of the manual would be needed. I think most men could attain an erection just from mental stimulation.

Looking at a biology textbook won't often get a guy aroused; it would usually have to be some kind of sexual thought or fantasy. It's always sexual and not simply attraction. Some guys do need stimulation and I don't imagine it's that uncommon - normally this kind of very mild impotence (up to "fully-blown" impotence) is down to nervousness or stress that's frequently unconscious. If your fella needs a bit of warming up, don't worry, it probably isn't you!

It can be either way depending on how you feel and how aroused your body is - ie how long it has been since you had sex - and your age.
