Actually, since the world is full of chaos, that's really all you can do is change yourself & hope that that change somehow has an impact on the world.

..and who says we have to change? I really hate that song, 'We keep on waiting for the world to change'. Nothing ever happens by doing nothing. The world will always have chaos. Not every country will agree with you, be of the same religion, and will want something another country does. here's a better song too:
You've got to accentuate the positive
Eliminate the negative
Latch on to the affirmative
Don't mess with Mister In-Between
Positive is probably USA and its allies, as we're trying to help others all the time. Negative is probably its enemies who dont have a worldly view on things. Nothing can be affirmative because too many in betweens like the media and our own Geneva Convention gets involved in wars and soldiers die because of rules like they cant 'fire until fired upon'.
that doesnt mean I agree with Bush either, but I think we need to change ourselves by not having so many rules that restrict what we are trying to accomplish. There will always be pro and anti war people, and Id like to see our troops come home. Yet until we train others, change others, and set up a government or another dictatorship(or call it a monarchy) I dont see us leaving.
and I dont think God can divert two planes from the being flown into two towers either. not saying he exists or doesnt, perhaps he helped save some lives by sending those brave heroes to rescue those he could. I dont think he can intervene in the actions of terrorists who just believe in war and cleansing the world. Yet we need to educate others and ourselves internationally of affairs around us. Maybe we were being lazy and they just got our attention. so the best thing you can do is to not believe everything you hear or are brought up learning like they were, and become more aware of the world around you.

Chaos is us. We're part of the ever-changing world and change ourselves continutally. The only time we're static is probably when we're dead. Though even then our souls might move onto the different level of chaos. I reckon chaos is nature's calling for existance. Without it, it wouldn't happen. Hence ONLY by changing ourselves accordingly to the needs of the chaos we can survive in the ever-changing world

Ask yourself "if the the world is in such a state of chaos, How can we stay the same?" and, perhaps, you will find your answer.

The world is in fact in a downward spiral and it will end in a horrific war. That is without question. Therefore the matter of changing ourselves is rather irrelevant. The best we can do is acknowledge that there is nothing we can do. That should bring us to a point of hopelessness and despair. From that point we will understand that the only hope for us is to accept that which we have long rejected, the Word of God. And more specifically, of course, the Son of God. The only change we need to make is to open our hearts to Him. In the Lord Jesus Christ there is life and purpose. Outside of faith in Him, there is nothing.

The technological revolution has out paced social evolution, and we are in an ever expanding gap. We will never shake off the resulting chaos.

We cannot change only ourselves. Man is organic with the world. His inner life molds the environment and is itself also deeply affected by it. The one acts upon the other and every abiding change in the life of man is the result of these mutual reactions.

well, our first responsibility is towards ourselves, to improve ourselves, without looking around as... and I don't think the world is chaos, I think that it's exactly as it should be, we can't see it like that, because we don't have the whole picture of past and future...

Its all about having a strong set of rules you yourself live by, and not getting influenced by negative events.
