I have the option of 02 or Vodaphone at the present moment. I have been using Vodafone since forever but the reception isn't good in many parts of the island and is intermittant in bad weather.I can usually receive texts ok but can't talk on phone. I have been told that 02 have a better coverage but with that sim card I still only get 1 bar signal where I live. I haven't set up that card completely yet, I was just wanting the views of others that are in a similar area to me.
Thank you.

You can get a signal booster for mobile phones which might help? Also, some phones have a stronger signal receptor than others (might be worth remembering if you upgrade your phone sometime?)In Arran it is6 of one & half doz of other between O2 & vodafone . Keeping the phone near a window when indoors helps, many island properties have such thick solid walls as well as the hills etc which play havoc with the signal. Sorry I cant be more help

It will depend upon which island you are on.
Have you had a look at both vodafone and O2's websites for coverage?

Where i live i find i get much better coverage with O2, esp if i am using remote and very rural roads, Im not on the Islands but am in a remote part of Scotland.

Hi
I used to have vodafone but have changed to O2 and i find the coverage is so much better. I sure you can go into the phone shop and ask about coverage in your area. Good luck with this hope you find which is the better one.
