I think it will increase because terrorists are able to start more #$^$# when they don't have U.S. Marines breathing down their necks. Democrats have promised to give terrorists more breathing room. It's a known fact that dead terrorists cause no terror.

Interesting question....
I don't believe any US President has an affect on the increase or decrease of violence with respect to Terrorism.
I view it as an evolutionary thing - a time related thing if you will.
If you look at the incidents, the Terrorists pick their targets based on observed or perceived weakness. They get bolder yet are very methodical about their actions. In short, they have time on their side as the guard of their enemies wavers based on public and political sentiment.
Eventually, a nuclear device will be detonated - sure it sounds fancilful but they have time on their side. It could be 20 years from now, it could be 200 years from now - but it will happen, why?
Because the Terrorists want to put an end to those who don't believe in their backwards way of life.
It's really quite sad to think about as, to put it in an ESPN phrase, "you cannot stop them, you can only hope to contain them".
Containment worked in the Cold War but these people have nothing to lose - which is why a President will have little affect on the increase/decrease of terrorism.

facing the facts, normally or literelly speaking.. if the the higher person leaves, the team will break, but from Raw Facts, people are not like that, reality isnt like that.. based on current issues, the answer can be seen by the people, even if bush leaves, or does not leave, in doesnt leave the fact that the damage he left behind.. this damage is not physical, but moral.. alot of people's perception on the US has changed, i somewhat understand the issues, but to value life is more important to me, color nor faith doesnt matter, its the people that matters. even if someone comes to be the new president, he or she will be left behind with the burden that bush left. The problem is.. how to get the morality back.., because of this morality, others will have grudges..when there are grudges there are revenge... and where there is revenge, specially on the US, it is called terrorism...

I hope that President will succeed in controlling terrorism to some extent and withdrawal of American troops will start before he leaves the office. There are anti-war demonstration. People should realize that abrupt withdrawal of forces without making proper security arrangement will be victory for law breakers and American interest will badly suffer. History will will give decision of Mr. Bush policy. We hope that Mr. Bush will also try to reconcile those elements who are prepared for change and grant amnesty to all who surrender. However, use of force should continue.

That depends on who is elected to replace President Bush. I do believe if we elect an individual who is not willing to stand up for their beliefs that the terrorists will take advantage of this. Whether President Bush is right or wrong will be for history to decide. Too much of what happens in our nation depends on what the media wants us to believe. I believe that what the media says is what will influence how bold the terrorists will be and if we elect an individual who caters to public opinion polls, i.e. Bill Clinton, then terrorism will increase. I admire President Bush for following his beliefs whether they are right or wrong. It takes a strong individual to do what they believe is right especially when everyone seems to be against them.

Independant thinking can lead to many different views. When something or someone is taken or an approach for the taking ,there is a distress call and the act of terrorism is that responce.

Terrorism, that results from the hate Muslims have for us, will be here for a very long time...enough of us don't realize that this is the real war now and we have been too slow to react.
Our downfall, for a large part, is in not using racial profiling to separate the facial haired Muslims and giving them thorough background checks to sort out those that are here for only one purpose...their martyrdom and our destruction.
The mujahadeed and radical Ismamic terrorists have an all-out jihad against Westerners and basically, anyone not a Muslim.
Their hatred for us along with their willingness to die for their cause is a dangerous mixture that cannot be quickly defeated.
Their "religion" is sick and twisted and preaches hatred and destruction and we are no longer safe as long as they allowed to move about among us in order to plan and set into motion their plan to

First of all, accusing the wrong people of "war crimes", turning down their microphones in "court", dismissing their defense "witnesses" in the middle of their "testimonies" and denying them the medical treatment they need, are also forms of terrorism. So if, please God, the next US president will distance himself from these evil deeds, I guess other terrorists will be demoralized and terrorism will decrease.

Personally, I think it will decrease. It's a known fact that when a Republican president is in office, then tend to get us into wars. I also think that the main reason he keeps pushing us to stay in Iraq and now possibly into Iran, is to prove to his father that he can win there since his father pulled out of Iraq to early.
