you should watch "IT".
It's after a novel by Stephen King, and I saw the movie when I was about 14, and even 10 years later I can't see a clown without feeling shivers down my spine, but hey, clowns are kinda scary anyway :)
It's good because it doesn't rely on physical torture, like most horrors today.
It's a psychological movie mostly, they don't make horror movies like that anymore, that's why they are so predictable

Well, it seems like you get scared by the same thing as me.. supernatural forces(ghosts, spirits, demons, etc.). Some good movies featuring these are..
> The Exorcism of Emily Rose
> Pulse
> White Noise
> An American Haunting
Other good horror movies include..
> Saw 1, 2, AND 3
> The Hills have Eyes
> The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

People find different things scary, personally I thought The Ring was scary, but things like Saw are more of a thriller than a horror movie. So, it depends.

I have the same issue with horror movies now a days. In fact, I thought the Exorcist was pretty lame. More action and gross then horror. However, if you get a chance to play, or have an Xbox, try the Fatal Frames game. Didn't scare me but gave me the willies in a few places. My friend (Who does scare pretty easily.) fell out of her seat twice she was starteled so badly. Either way, scared or not, it's still more enjoyable then seeing a bad horror movie.

Start watching Japanese Horror movies. The originals of Pulse, Grudge, Ring, etc... are better in the original Japanese version. I think that Ju Rei or Suicide Club were quite freaky movies, the first because of the movement of the characters. I love Jap Horror.

Have you seen the original "Black Christmas" (1974)? If not, I would recommend that one to you. Also, try the original "Dawn of the Dead" (1978). More great classics are: "Halloween", the original "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" (1974), "Alien" (1979) and the creepiest of classics "Freaks" (1932).

Nobody never mentions 'Stif of Echoes'
Like you I love horror..but nothing scared me but ths one...is pretty unique...it does not have the kind of music that grips you but a subtle silence..which I thought would be weird but I found it more thrilling....
It stars Kevin Bacon and the cop lady in Numb3rs
The summary without getting away to much goes like this...
Tom's a regular guy, a utilities lineman, married, with a young son, his wife is pregnant; he hangs out with long-time pals in a Chicago neighborhood. At a party, his sister-in-law hypnotizes him, and he goes into a deep trance. Before waking him, she suggests that he keep his mind open. That night he sees flashes of violence and the ghost of a young woman. His young son, too, is "a receiver," but while the boy is calm and coherent in his conversations with spirits, Tom is confused and agitated. Over time, the young woman's story comes to the surface, and Tom begins a hunt for her body that puts him and his usually understanding wife, Maggie, in grave danger.
does not sound fancy..but have a go at it...

1. Tourist Trap
2. Dario Argento's Deep Red (Profondo Rosso)
3. The Descent
4. Mario Bava's "Demons"
Tourist Trap is nasty and f@cked up. Messed me up good when I saw it as a kid. Demons and Deep Red are Italian Splatter flicks that are really well done. Demons is a complete hoot, complete with cursed objects, pustulating boils that swell and burst(!), and a really enthusiastic movie theater audience.
I just saw The Descent and really, really liked it. It has several great moments. Enjoy!

Try 'Evil Dead' (the first one) Its very old so I do not know how you can get it sorry. It is from 1982 and makes the exorcist look like a comedy by comparison.
