If you accept God as the creator, would you also accept God as intervening in absolutely everything? Would you accept God pre-destines your every move?

I think most people (whether believers or not) prefer to think that things happen as a consequence of their own actions.

I can accept God as a creator, but everything from thereon is our own responsibility. We grow old because we have improved our life-styles to enable us to do so - we are now suffering the consequences of this because the older we become the more likely it is that we will be ill and alone.

I think that, certainly in the Western world, our suffering these days is somewhat less than that gone through by our predecessors.

I understand the sad nature of your question. These are things that I've asked in the past. A person can't help but ask them! There are answers, though. Since you asked a God question, I'll give you a Biblical answer.

God definitely created us, and all of creation was perfect in the beginning. Adam and Eve chose to give into the temptation of eating the only fruit in the garden of Eden that was forbidden. In effect, they were rejecting God's will and following their own way. This is called sin. The Bible says that the wages of sin is death. So, I suppose that God could have wiped out the human race right then and there. However, he chose to let us continue, but with the assurance of death. From that day on man was kicked out of his earthly paradise and subjected to the new cruel law of the world.

However, that's not where the story ends. The rest of the Bible is the continuation of the story of how God tries to bring us back into communion with Him for forever. The reason is because He loves us SO MUCH!

Just as there are governmental laws here on the Earth, there are spiritual laws. One of them is that God is so Holy or "set apart" that He cannot be in the presence of sin. Heaven is His home and He makes the rules. So, that pretty much leaves every human on Earth in a great crisis. How can this gap between man and God be bridged. God saw that man would never be able to get up to His level of Holiness because even ONE of our sins separates us from Him.

God decided that He would be our eternal savior, though. Christians believe that based on the miracles and life of Jesus that God Himself actually came down in human form, and He died in our place. This means that though the pains of life on Earth will continue, our days can still be filled with peace that passes all understanding and true JOY. Where do these things come from? It comes from the assurance that there is a God in Heaven who loves us and knows us completely and takes care of us. Also, it gives us the greatest Peace and Joy to know that because of what He did, our souls will live forever and live a life more full than we can imagine.

What does God ask in return? He simply asks that you believe!!! It's a free gift. You don't have to get good enough for Him. You can't! You simply believe that Jesus's death and resurrection have saved you from the ETERNAL effects of getting "old, being alone, sick and die." He does ask that out of love for Him that you turn away from your life, mind, and heart that is sinful and instead seek that which is inspired by His love and Holiness.

The best part of the TRUE story is that Jesus rose again. No one will ever find His bones. He reigns as King and is our friend. He is preparing a place for us in Heaven as you read this letter.

Friend, if you need this peace and joy, please ask God to help you right now. Tell Him that you realize that you've done things that are not in His will, but you want to start living a life that is for Him. Tell Him that you believe that Jesus is His Son and that His sacrifice has saved you from eternal death. Tell Him that you come to Him in the name of His Son Jesus and that He is your Lord and Saviour. This life is short, but it is better with Him. The life after this one is long, and it doesn't exist without Him.

God did not create man to grow old, get sick and die - man chose that when he sinned. And since man chose that - God did not override man's free-will. Go to Calvary and have it reversed. Your inner man will be renewed day by day, you won't be alone, He has provided for your healing and when you pass through the transition we call death - you will step into perfect life. It is not suffering - it is a great adventure!!

Who said we all get old, alone, sick and die?!!! All of that is a state of mind. We have a choice if we want to feel this way or not. If maturing is a synonym of unhappiness for you, guess what you'll be right. When you get old things WILL turn for the worse. But simultaniously if it is something you accept you will embrace it and learn from your experiences. So is the glass half full or empty????

God did not create Human beings to suffer. Mankind's suffering all goes back to the first sin of man. In the Garden of Eden where God put Adam and Eve, there was the tree of the knowledge of good and bad. they were forbidden from eating the fruit of that tree.. but in Genesis we see that the devil came down to decieve Eve, and make her think that if she ate from the tree she would be like God. which was a lie. so she ate, and Gave her husband some of it too. Romans 5:12 tells us why all men suffer now. it isnt by any fault of God, nor was it his purpose for us. You could think of it like this... Adam and Eve are the Parents of all humankind... they sinned, and thus their offspring sin as well. it is like when you have a dented bread pan. every loaf of bread that you make with that pan is going to have a dent in it. just like every child born to man will sin. we are imperfect. the bible also says that the wages sin pays is death, that is why we die. but that doesnt mean that God hasnt done anything to bring everything back to perfection, it is already in the works. the ransom sacrifice that Jesus paid when he died for us, was his perfect life in exchange for many imperfect ones. he paved the way for all humans to be forgiven for their sins, if we put faith in that ransom.

God did not create human beings. Pain and suffering are natural reactions to negative environments or events. They indicate the need to either change the situation or remove ones self from it.

God isn't. People are born. We suffer because life isn't perfect but you can't focus on the bad. People tend to focus on the bad & are quick to blame "God" but really its US who live. WE do the good & the bad as well. You must look at the GOOD in life.
Life takes from you but it also gives.
People die, yes but people are also born.
People get old, yes but people LIVE & experience life
People are alone, yes but they will be saved[I was alone before so I know about this]
People get sick, yes but people also get better.
Maybe there are really unhappy people in the world, which is why instead of asking "why" we need to get up & HELP thoose people. Make them see the good, give them hope.

Charles,
It is so strange that you would ask and I would answer. My Father was named Charles. He was told he would not live to be 18 and this was told to him at 14. He had ulcerated colitis and he fooled them all. He live to be 34. Twenty years I watched the pain and agony of loose bloody stools.
He was given a choice at 14 to get his Collin removed and live. But he would have to give up having children. (In those days they cut out more than they had to)
He told me this story and I asked him " Why didn't you get the operation and live"? His answer was teary eyed and warm as he looked at me.
" Son I would not have gotten to have you and your two sisters. That's worth taking a little time off my life and suffering."

So Charles my answer to you would be: " The good we have comes at a price and it is all worth it in the end!"
