As a gay man, there is only one thing I would appreciate from others around me...gay or straight. That is equality. To be treated equally, fairly and with no prejudice.

In response to your question, I have to make a point of clarification. I really do not believe that there is a "gay movement" as it implies that we as gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgenered people have an agenda. Those who really know the reality of what our "communities" are like will know that we can't get our crap together long enough to develop an agenda, let alone build community. It is dangerous too imply that we are a movement because that is what the conservative right wing would like their followers to believe, to incite fear and hatred by claiming we are trying to take over the world.

Reality is, we don't give a damn about taking over the world. The other reality is, we're everywhere. Even on Star Whatever, honey. I assume they have a "don't ask don't tell" policy too. Anyhoo, we're here, we queer. Deal with it. Just don't piss us off or we'll unite and you'll all be in deep doodoo.

Same-sex marriage.....or Civil Unions....which would include every benefit, right and law that straight marriages hold.

As far as the "Gay Movement".....I have no idea what you're talking about. There is no Gay Movement, no Gay Agenda that most Christians worry so much about.

Someone up there said there was no homosexuals in Star Trek.
WRONG........George Tekai...................

Inclusion in the federal nondescrimination law (protection of employment and housing)
Repeal of don't ask don't tell
repeal of DOMA (FULL marriage equality on a federal level)
Highschool students SHOULD know who the hell Bayard Rustin is....more inclusive curriculum (not everyone agrees on this, but this is my list anyway)
Prison reform (the only option for safety for ANyONE queer, but especially transfolk, is akin to solitary confinement for their protection. This option also takes away access to many rehab programs and stuff).

Smooth adoption processes, and no problems surrounding healthcare and benefits.

Homosexuals on Star Trek. That would be sweet! Only though if the show was as good as TNG or Voyager. I wouldnt watch Deep Space Nine or Enterprise I still wouldn't watch.

I would like to know how Dr. Fine and Henry plan on getting rid of homosexuality. Well, maybe I don't want to know about their irrational dribble.

1. I would like to be able to allow my husband to make medical decisions for me if I'm not of sound mind.

2. I would like him to be able to make financial decisions if I'm not of sound mind.

3. I would like him to be recognized as my husband on my beneficiary forms at work, such as 401K, insurance. (I have to put under relationship "FRIEND").

4. On any form that requires marital status, I would rather put married than SINGLE. Because, I'M NOT SINGLE!!!!

But here are the typical choices. married divorced single separated

5. I'm out at work, but my "husband" isn't. He doesn't say anything, because co-workers always pop jokes or make snide comments about homosexuality and homosexuals in general at work. There needs to be a law in ALL STATES that will allow homosexuals to come out at work without being threatened. People say, don't ask don't tell. I know the remarks bother him, and he has to try to think of ways so that the workers don't suspect anything. I think that is totally wrong, and reduces his productivity. Especially, if he's constantly on edge about getting found out.

me. For I am the future of every movement. since the world still tries to push their christian lies down our throats, but I will teach us how to vomit them back out. The world will kill itself. And I will teach us how to use Superior emotions All before my 25th birthday. Even though I am not even 21 yet, I have taught My students how to hold fire. I have taught them how to wake the dead. I have taught them how to conjure great hurricanes. Yes all 120 of my students are rather powerful, and this is the only time I will apologise for the things I have done to the entire world. But all I can say is don't wait until I am 30 to try and follow me. I will be personally destructive. And even when you are 100 years old, you will tell your grandchildren of the day you saw this question, and only typed something stupid. And your grandchildren will call you stupid. They will say "but when the Jews received "Jesus" they killed him first before they believed" How could You be so stupid". Yes that is what your grandchildren will say to you. Because the world is "waiting " for nothing. Do not be a christian lyer and say "you are waiting for ME", because you are not. My students and I shall give the world an awsome tragedy in 2009. And in those days you shall remember My warning, and who I said I was. There are idiots on this site who will say "gays have no future b/c they cannot reproduce. so why is homosexuality OLDER than prostitution? It will always "haunt" scociety b/c people are so quick to sweep it under the rug.

Being homosexual is a state of being, we are a COMMUNITY not a MOVEMENT. French Impressionism is a movement, us gay folk are a PEOPLE.

*Same rights in relation to claiming war widows pensions

*Superannuation
*Power of attorney over life partners should they get dementia or brain-damaged in a car accident
*Immigration and citizenship rights recognising life partners who wish to live in the countries of their spouse

Well, gay people will always be around, as long as "breeders"(straight people) keep reproducing them. It will not be long for gays to have equal rights and be acknowledged as everyday people. The issue needs to be looked at as ethically than morally.
