Brett Favre was a great QB, an exciting one to watch, but the last 2-3 years have been rather pathetic for both him and the Pack.
As others have posted, he's become an interception machine - and for long stretches, a non TD throwing machine - caused by him being on a bad team, yes, but also him losing arm strength.
Football is a young man's game, and he's no longer a young man. Time to retire and move back to the bayou.

Who will be sad to see Brett Farve Retire......Hmmm
Opposing Defensive Backs!
Favre is an interception machine.
Don't get me wrong, I think Brett is probably the Best QB in NFL History. The Passing yards, TDs, and the fact that the Packers have never had to worry about who thier starting QB would be because despite injuries Brett has NEVER MISSED A GAME!
Yeah in a Sport when players routinly sit out a game here or there. The player who takes the biggest punishment has always been the QB and Brett has NEVER MISSED A GAME!
However....everybody knows that Farve can be reckless so Brett has also fed a lot of Interceptions to those hungry DBs

I am a Packer fan for 40 years. It will be a sad day when Brett Favre retires but it is unfortunately inevitable. My hope is to see Brett go out a winner like he desires. If you want Brett to do this tell the Packer front office he needs more offensive personnel in the red zone.He is a nice person and humble and one of the last type of quarterbacks of his type-a gunslinger. Green Bay forever to the end.

I won't be sad because I'm not a Packers fan but he's a first-ballot Hall of Famer and one of the best to ever play the game. Packers fans should be sad because I have no idea what Aaron Rodgers is capable of. Favre may not be the same player from 5-6 years ago, but he's still a better option than Aaron Rodgers and he's certainly a better option than 1/2 the QB's in the NFL

You may shed a tear or two for good ol' Brett, but wuold you rather have your beloved QB retire with a solid record, or go for another season and possible tarnish his image and career. If he does come back for one more season, it will look like he is in it to just break records and not push the team forward.
He should retire while he can walk away from the game instead of being forced out from the game he loves.

Favre will wait until the day of the Super Bowl to make his retirement announcement, I bet. The man needs CONSTANT attention, and that will help garner him some more.
As another person said, opposing defensive backs will be sad to see him leave.

I will be sad because he is fun to watch. Underhand throws, jump throws, all the fun stuff played every game he started in. NFl is boring to watch when Farve not playing. This year is an ok year to watch because of the underdog storys but thats it.
