I have a pentium 4 which is very good but my sound is not coming out of the speakers~~nor the headphones.
It seems to be a computer problem rather than the connections, as i had a box appear on the screen and it said the connections appear to be connected right.
Am i supposed to go somewhere in my computer and turn them on??.My last pc was an athalon 2700 processor and they worked fine then??Any help please.

RIght click on My Computer and select Properties. Then click on the hardware tab, then the Device Manager option. Once you are in there, if you notice any items with Yellow marks next to them that means you need to PROBABLY install drivers.

Otherwise, I would make sure I was plugging the jacks in the right ports on the back of the machine. I cannot count the times I've plugged into the wrong port.

click on the start menu then go to all programs then accessories then go to entertainment then volume controle and adjust the volume or you need to download a sound card driver you need to find out what kind of motherboard and model then search on google for a sound card driver

Did you check the drivers for the sound card?
Are they properly instaled and configured?

go to control panel, and click on sounds
if you can adjust sounds from there, it means that you have installed drivers for the sound card... if not, install one... im guessing its a built in sound card.
