To Kill a Mocking Bird. Some what tragic.
Giant.
Of Mice and Men.
My of my favorite Romance Movies are:
Doctor Zhivago with Omar Sharif and Julie Christe.
On The Water Front with Marlon Brando and Karl Maldon.
Marty with Ernest Borgnine.
The African Queen With Humphrey Bogart and Kathrine Hepburn.
A very good movie. Old man and the Sea with Spencer Tracey.
There are so Many and I can't recall them right now. I think all the above took many Oscars.

My top five in order:
An Affair to Remember
Roman Holiday
Sabrina
Charade
To Catch a Thief
Haven't seen but heard are good:
Love in the Afternoon
From Here to Eternity
And a foreign bonus:
Jules et Jim
I prefer the great romances of the 40's but the fifties were pretty good too.

If A Man Answers is hilarious.
Although its from 1942, Random Harvest is one of the most romantic, bittersweet movies ever.
Also check out the Happiest Millionaire.
I couldn't leave without recommending Seven Brides for Seven Brothers- one of the top five musicals ever!
