A good man is both.

. I consider the character of the man.
A good provider is prostituting yourself, if this is the priority. Selecting a husband is based on the integrity, honesty, Mutual respect, dreams, total trust, a man with Honor, willing to live financial & and smear attacks, blackmail, threats mystery deaths. Etc...A man of Justice for the wrongs and a systematic sense that unequality, injustice, must be exposed.
These qualities are the core of a good Father. Seeking to expose the corruption, cronyism, lack of empathy and pure greed is more likely to end in poverty.
I do not think this is that true anymore as the Nation is crying for justice. Democrasy and a desire to turn the tide of American Facism taking over U.S. goverments.
Good father, duh if you choose bad father for good provider, yousell self children and the Republic of the "United States of America" for the Federal Reserve banks fraudualt money (now worthless).
Husband should be best friend, true love, good dad, respect of wife, commitment to family before any provider role that will slowly chip your soul as u rationalize to the loss of soul.
Marry 4 proper reasons. Pray for wisdom. God will provide....Mary.

A good father. Any man can be a provider. It takes more than providing to be a father.

i would say both. A husband should have both qualities. He not only should be a good father but also help his spouse put food on the table. Husband should have the same equality as his wife and share all the tasks and expenses.
