Truly canadians for me are very polite and helpful and how come that these days its different now?

I'm not really sure, but I think it is because of too many foreign influences. I am from Canada, but have been working overseas for about 12 years. I recently went back to visit and was horrified and sickened by how people acted. After discussing it at length with a friend, I came to the conclusion that because so many people come to Canada, bringing their cultural attitudes, they cause the people to react to those attitudes.
You must remember that most cultures have never had the kind, helpful attitudes that we have enjoyed for so long. Where I live, everyone thinks "Me! Me! Me! Me! Me!" is how things should be.

Barbie: That is because there is a generation gap. The group of Canadians which you have had the better experience with is now, ageing and dissipating [dieing]. Now; you are left with the materialistic hungry generation (for the most part) , who value $ and material items more than other people. I am Canadian and see the difference myself, in the work place and within our Canadian society. We as parents, have taught that beauty, bucks and brains are more important than people are. You can see it in the movies, magazines, tabloids, and on television ! Add-in the promotion of the evolution theory (people are nothing more than a bi-product of green slime) and you have your answer ! Of course, this does not apply to all Canadians of this generation but to far too many !!! It's called "progress" ... if you can believe it ? !!!

Sorry to say but Polite & Helpful Canadians are a dieing breed... To many of our young people are getting cought up in gangs & other sh!t... I'm now 31 & I see it every day... Young punk kids that need a slap!!!!!! If any one of my kids turn out that way I don't know what I'll do...
