I really don't know for sure. Most people think this is the land of the free but that just isn't true. Not anymore anyway. We have never more than right now had our civil liberties stomped on. This whole country is going to hell. I will die an American just as I was born. I do love my country but I don't love for what it is. I love it for what it can be. I just hope the next generation can make new paths of change to help save us all.

America is know as being the best place to live, because we are a democracy. Though we are slowly changing into something different because of the UN. Most people think that there are other places better, but which places? Europe has Prime Ministers and royals. Other placed are communists, and may be fun for a vacation, but the truth is, once you move to that place you will soon discover their laws and regulation. Which same happens to people moving to America, but it isn't as bad. When you move somewhere you would have to do things you wouldn't normally do if you were a tourist. But in the U.S.A weather you're a tourist or not you follow by the laws, so it isn't much of a shock. I probably am babling and making no sense, but it's 3:41 AM where I am.

One thing America has is a good propaganda machine, but Canada lets in a helluva lot more refugees than the USA. Much more of a melting pot.
There are more people incarcerated per ca pita in the USA than almost every other country in the world. The layers of laws are becoming so thick, opportunity has stopped knocking for the have-nots, while the 'haves' live in gated communities and spend their disposable income on their dogs & cats.

Freedoms that other countries don't give to their citizens. I think that is the biggest reason. Also, there is a belief that in America anybody can succeed. Rather than being stuck in a certain social class and remaining, there is a belief that people can move between social classes quite readily. Just a opinion/guess.

Well, Americans don't see or know much about other parts of the world. They think illegals want to come only to USA. But Europe is also full of illegals.

They are so self-concerned that they don't see that majority see America as dirty country: full of fat, ignorant people. Many of them are also snob, manically obsessed with their self image. America is full of exaggeration.

All the illegals cant be wrong.

Edit: to those below I am a 'legal' immigrant to the U.S. and as for more people in the U.S. are incarcerated than the population of Canada that isn't saying much there are more people on the west coast than in Canada.
