interesting topics to be published in media?

hi, i'm tricia (18), i got an assignment from my lecturer to write an article to be published in media, but i don't hav any idea about the topic. I want it to be smart but fun, unique but not kinky, light but interesting enough to be published by the media and to be read by people... really need suggestions...

how about a day life of a tech savvy 18 yrs which illustrates to older people how the avg teen uses communications technology each day -- eg cell phones, text messaging, blogs, ipods, etc.....
