Modern science is starting to show that they are probably as real as a dream is. watch the Elegant Universe, a PBS documentary that is available online here: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/elegant/
You could also try out 'What the Bleep! do we know?' which is less scientific, but raises enough interesting questions all the same.

All mumbo-jumbo aside, time is a function of the relative motion between bodies. There is such a thing as time-space, but they are interdependent. Time is an illusion, in the sense that it depends on your reference point. There is no absolute reference point. Imagine that you see a star explode from earth. From your reference point, the event is taking place as you watch. But from a reference point close to the star, we would say that it exploded millions of years ago (because it took so long for the light from the explosion to reach the earth). But who is to say which reference point is correct? If we were to ask, "When did the star explode?" we would first have to pick a reference point. When did it explode from earth? Where did it explode from the star? Where did it explode from planet Neptune?

yes, life is like an interactive video game in which we all get to test drive life. time and space are all illusions of boundaries for this game called life. Once the game is over, you will experience freedom without time or space.

They are an illusion because they are temporary. If we study Vedic Philosophy we'll find out what eternal, everlasting truth is.

they are real and they are dimensions but they are finite and smal compared to the vastness that is the spiritual world. This is how foresight works.
