Perfection exist not in this existence. Thus your question in itself is inadequate.

Good constructive question.

If perfection is motivated by the determination of selflessness, than perfection will not ruin uniqueness and individuality. You could say that by becoming selfless, and giving up your troubles in order to do so, you become a prime example for those around you, which in itself is a uniqueness among humans these days.. While some may say you have lost your self's dreams and goals, others would say you have embraced a higher dream and goal than just your own, showing a universal view.

Perfection can be idealistic in many ways, it being the higher pursuit of an ideal representation, but that does not mean that it is wrong. Once again, if your motivation and determination are to benefit those around you, through selflessness, than the perfection and idealism can be seen as very positive character building tools. So again, in some sense you lose a previous self uniqueness, to gain a more universal one.

In the long run, it all comes down to happiness, and in this, one must have a balance of idealism with realism too, while perfecting these would help find greater meaning in these... Anyhow, hope this helps, cheers

No mater how hard one strives for perfection, one's uniqueness and individuality would always emerge as no one can achieve perfection! Hence, perfection is a relative term, and the idea of preserving one's uniqueness and individuality must not be used as an excuse not to aim for perfection, otherwise we have nothing but junks!

In conclusin, perfection does not ruin uniqueness and individuality and idealism is not wrong, but the two are not the same. Idealism is a means to a relative perfection.

I would need to say yes. If everyone were trying to reach perfection--to have the same goals and dreams--that would be conformity. Conformity (what some may consider idealism) would take away uniqueness and individuality. This world would be a very boring, competitive, uniform place. People would not be thinking for themselves, just about achieving perfection.

In a word: yes. This stems from the very meaning of the word "perfect" - you can't have two. If something is perfect and something else is different, than one of them cannot be perfect.

Idealism is such a broad term these days, that it tends to lack any real meaning and as such it's difficult to compare it with perfection. If we consider it the opposite of pragmatism in the sense of doing something as a matter of principle as opposed to obtaining the greatest benefit, then it might have something going for it as a way of life. Of course, that depends on the actual principles.

The way you're questioning perfection is making the word almost a paradox. It depends on how you look at it, some people think that being yourself is perfect, others think that if everyone were like Mrs. Jones, the cookie-cutter wife, only then they would be perfect. Other people think it's imperfections that makes life perfect. Idealism is opinion, I think it's the same thing as perfection. But, that's only the way I look at it.

Perfection can ruin nothing because it never occurs. It is merely a limit which one may hope to approach.
