I agree with Sandy. Heart was by far the best girl band of all time.
If you want the best female vocalist in a mixed sex band then that would have to be Stevie Nicks, hands down.

girl group - sings to someone elses (usually a man's) music
so pussycat dolls, sugarbabes, girls aloud etc. aren't girl bands

girls aloud. catchy tunes even i can listen to and i normally listen to metal, the berzerker, deicide etc, and plus they're hot, perfect combination!
