I need to know if it would be less expensive as far a truck to move in the summer or should we try to move now, in the spring? I also need to know good moving companies in the Bay Area.

The busiest time for rental trucks and moving companies is the last weekend in June. People wait until the end of the school year to move, and in most parts of the USA school ends sometime in June. They also want to move at the end off the month, because most leases are written to end the last day of the month. Home buyers want to settle as close to the last day of the month to save interest charges.

Call around now, and get estimates. If you are hiring a moving company, be careful that they do not low ball the estimate. Movers base the charges on weight and distance. If they estimate the weight less than the actually scale weight, you may find that you owe much more at the end of the move than they estimated!

Moving companies, truck rental companies etc.RATES ARE HIGHEST IN THE SUMMER!! This is because of supply and demand. Most moves take place in
the summer as SCHOOL IS OUT. Both business and industry want to support their employees by not upsetting the kids in the middle of a term.
Even our Armed Forces work around this as much as possible.

So move soon! and I hope you're getting to move around Chattanooga or Knoxville where it's scenic.
