Completely different format. If you want to stick it in a phone, wont work properly. MicroSD is a lot smaller than MMC, but if you stick the microSD in an adaptor, they have similar pins to be read by card readers.

You can use RS-MMC, MMC-Mobile, DV RS-MMC, and MMC for an MMC slot. SD requires its own format.
