Lets say you are all single and engaged. If the person you were engaged to marry had an accident and had their face disfigured and became a paraplegic, would you still go through with the wedding or back out of it? there are no wrong answers, i'm just curious about what most of you would do???

See you should ask more questions sweetie. I'd go through with it because if we are truly in love then it wouldn't matter if one of us is disfigured or paraplegic. The heart and mind is where love resides not the body. Hope this gives you some more insight to what we think about love. ((HUGS))

Well it is a hard question to answer for me because I am in my 50's already and I am disabled and not able to work, so I live on social security, and I get help from my loving husband...
He thinks the world of me and I feel the same about him...

However in the 15 years we have been together, he has gained a lot of weight and he coughs a lot from his smoking and drinking and it prevents him from getting a good nights sleep as well, because he snores...
So I end up having to leave the bedroom to sleep elsewhere...
But I wouldn't give him up with all his faults, because I married him because I loved him...
I would never leave him just because of irritable habits...
I think this would apply also to being disfigured or unable to work because I love him no matter what...
Remember in the marriage vows they say "for better or worse"...

I would do the right thing, I fell in love with that person. They are still the same person just disfigured. The love that I would have would not change.. I would go through with the wedding!

Would the invalid still go through with the wedding?
I believe that if marriage was imminent and tragedy happened to the man I loved completely ( and why else would I be getting married?), that I would continue with the wedding of my soul-mate. I would feel that my life was defined in that moment. I'm not sure I would always be able to handle it, but I would deal with it a lot better than if he died. I would want my chance with my beloved.

If that happened to my husband now, no way would I leave him. And before we got married, I loved him just as much, so that means that I wouldnt have left him then either. Life would be different, he'd probably not be able to work around here and such, but he would still be my soulmate and the father of our child. We may not be able to dance, but thats ok, we are both bad dancers anyway :)

If I loved her enough to ask her too be married to me ,it was for who she was inside not looks or doing things. I think and hope I would go through with it as she is the same person I loved on the inside...*

I would go through with the wedding because if you love the person the appearance doesn't matter that much for me.I don't know what other people would do but i would do that.

If I tuely loved them I would be by their side every step of the way. I don't know how long I could keep it up. But I would try until the end. Good question.

Well, when you truly love someone, it isn't for looks or the fact that they can walk or not. I would like to think that I would love them enough to stand by them and yes, marry them.
