What does a man with a one inch penis eat for breakfast?
This morning I had a bowl of cereal and toast...

Anything that's found to be funny has to be good. Otherwise it wouldn't be funny. I mean, have you ever found something really funny that wasn't good? Of course not. What a silly question!

Self Deprecating Humor Examples

I am an example of a class clown. I act silly to get attention and acceptance.
Sometimes I exaggerate my defects to make them look silly rather than deal with them.
Some races will use negative names pertaining to them in a humorous way to take the energy out of the names.
Just the tone of voice can change the context of a slur.
It is all in the context and whom you are with.
Many comedians are self-deprecating. It can be theraputic or it can be reenforcing a survival maladjustment. I can't think of any humor where someone or something isn't the butt of a joke. Exaggerating catastrophic expectations can be theraputic and maybe the only way to cope sometimes.
THIMK CONTEXT!

That's when you make fun of your own self. Like, my hearing is not so good, so one day I was describing something and I said, and "I" heard it inside my house! I heard it! Emphasis on I. Everyone laughed, cause if I can hear it it must have been pretty loud - that's an example. ANd yes, it is generally received well, cause it has humility. You can go too far tho and start putting yourself down so much that people feel the need to say "oh no, you're not that bad or that deaf or whatever" and that gets old. But barring that, sure. It may even be good for us to laugh at ourselves once in a while.

It's usually a good bonding tool, hopefully eliciting sympathy without pity. "Someone asked me if I knew a good plastic surgeon...'Would I look like this if I did?' "
Best used at your most vulnerable, i.e.; after you fumble or trip..."I'm so clumsy, I tripped over a punch line."
