i dont know what it is, and i am a concerned mom who doesn't know much about partying...and i want to know what my daughter is up to in this pic!

It's a keg stand....and I'd be worried. You should really just talk to her, and put your foot down.

I'm sure you've already figured out that it's a keg from everyone else's responses. I went through 11th grade and we ALL did this, so it's going to be hard to stop it. The most concerning thing to me would be the three 11th grade guys holding her over the keg (not to add gas to the fire!). I really think your best bet is to make sure she knows what consequences are to her actions and then keep your fingers that you raised her properly. Calling the cops will not help - she'll only find other ways, maybe even ones that are less social - which is worse.
I'd have the cool but concerned mom talk to let her know that you know what's up and you want her to know what's up. When the decision is firmly in her hands she'll take it more seriously.

It's definitely a Keg Stand. At least she's not smoking crack. Kids do that. If she comes home after curfew or slacks on her school work/homework then I'd get concerned. Teens have to experiment. It doesn't make her bad. It also doesn't mean if you step in she'll stop. It might make her do it more. I would call a counsler in your area for help for you. Then try and get her to go. Don't push the subject to much cause then she might wanna run away. She's gotta learn on her own. If she's a teen and her parents tell her no she's gonna do it double time.

Doing a keg upside down is suppose to give you a head rush from what I've heard, I guess takes affect quicker. Not a classy move, but it's not anything to get hysterical about as long as she's being safe and only drinks around people she knows and trusts.

It just looks like a silly pic. That is a beer keg but I dont see her drinking or doing drugs.

it's not drugs...she's doing a keg stand- people hold her upside down and she drinks as much beer as she can...what you're seeing is a keg (the big metal cyclinder) of beer- the black hose extending from the beer is a pump used to get the beer from the keg to a cup, or in this case to your daughter's mouth

I'm in 11th grade, though we don't do keg stands like that in the city, drinking is all the same. I tell my parents when I drink, and they always know. So, if you're comfortable with her doing things like this, she won't overdue it. Just watch out for her, and tell her it'd be ncier if she told you what she was doing. She has to learn for herself.
