Not sure but I think there is a chance that there may be a whole generation who does not know how to communicate face to face with others.Which would be sad is so many ways.:(

It already has a major effect on children. I see children as young as 9 addicted to their phones,constantly texting. It all comes down to parenting.

Not all kids use it. I'm 15 and I never text message. It's a waste of money, and it takes too long to figure out where all the letters are in the numbers lol.

I would have a hard time believing that it already hasn't, look at how much cell phones themselves have effected us all, including children..

I think text messaging is a stupid phase that will hopefully die soon. Call me old fashioned... but just pick up the phone and call.

It already has...they don't know any different....in another 10 yrs they'll start talking on the phone and think that's cool
