my husband tells me he stop doing certain thing and things will get better but at times it doesn't

that is a tuff one. sometimes people will say what they think the other person wants too hear just to shut them up and get them out of there face..........
have you tried saying honey i would appreciate it if you threw the trash today (example) and when he doesnt do it say to him ask him what could you do to get him too keep his word to avoid unecessary arguments, and maybe he will respond........if he does maybe he will throw it in the next hour from that conversation otherwise maybe he is feeling challenged and reverting to behaving like a child and refusing to cooperate.......in otherwords, he is being a kid.

You can't make him keep his word. He's got to do that on his own. A man isn't a man if he doesn't keep his word, but then again, if he's telling you one thing, then doing another, then promising you a change, then you got a problem here. It's time to start asking yourself, WHY DO YOU PUT UP WITH IT?

make it something that you can take away from him or brake or if he wont want you to drive his car,., make him swear to keep it and if he doesnt you'll drive his car or something . it depends what its on really ., cause then it'd be easier.. you know him heaps soo that is a bonus .. tell him mum and then she'll punish him haha .. or tell him you'll cook crappy food for him if he doesnt =]
