I'm really wanting to get there for the month of February. I still need to aquire a work permit, have medical examinations, and all that for a VISA. Is it possible to get all of that after I get to Canada, or do I have to stay in the US to do it.

without the visa, if they do let you in, you will only be granted a temporary visa, i am imagining 2 weeks or less.

I would reccomend you have at least the work permit and visa before you go -- you know, essential documents. Look it up on the government of canada website, maybe. I'm canadian but I don't know what our government requires for new immigrants.

Better to have all your ducks in a row before you get here.
