I am into volunteering to educate streetchildren to learn how to live their young lives meaningfully. For 3years I have been teaching them non-formal classes as I am a licensed teacher. However I realized that there is more to teaching that they need, like they need to have a shelter, most of them are homeless and run-away children. Mostly at their age at 15, 16 & 17 years old, they want to earn money already on their own, so that an alternative livelihood be provided to them as against to what they do now scavenging, hard labor at the wet markets & factory, prostitution and child trafficking and some are into petty crimes like pickpocketing or snatching. I took professional education as a way of my personal ministry to these children. I am a business graduate, I find poverty is not indeed the only reason why they are inthat mess but their mixed-up values in their young lives while living on the streets. I want to do more services for them this year, where can I find donors, sponsors?

Start with the local churches. They're usually part of international operations that can have mission offerings for your work. You can also contact international organizations like World Vision, Save The Children and Unicef. To raise money in the U.S., you will need a US church or nonprofit organization involved in order to get grants. You can learn how to write grants online at www.foundationcenter.org.

Good luck!
