Yes, I have used diapers on my dogs!!! They work great. I have even made my own diapers at times. I have seen the "potty pants" that you buy and you use the pants over and over and just put in a new pad. I would think these would be the best value.
Maybe move her litterbox into an area that has linoleum so that it can be cleaned easier. Please don't get rid of her she's trying.

Actually if your doctor is saying she's healthy I think you should get a second opinion. This symptom sounds a lot like the old cats and dogs we see at my hospital. It's called incontinence, and theres a medication that helps it A LOT! I don't know how to spell the whole thing but the vet and us vet techs called it DES. Its something like Diesthe-something. But ask the Vet if DES, and incontinence med would help. If he was a younger cat I would assume it was something else...but a 16 year old cat I would get a second opinion and ask for the DES. It should help. If this is just the cat standing in the box and missing thats one thing. If he's peeing before he gets to the box then this is incontinence. Good luck!

If you're worried about your carpet, then by all means use the diapers. They make them for this reason. Now your cat will probably ruin quite a few trying to get used to it being on because she'll take them off so you'll have to be persistant. Did you talk to the vet about her missing the box? If not, call them and inquire about it.

I have heard of diaper for dogs on heat. But you might have trouble teaching her to leave it on.
I also seen floor diapers for puppy training. What about putting plastice or old towels over carpet.
Cat and Dogs known when their at the vet and they suddenly feel better because they don't like the vet.

I recon they are worth it. I've been a kennel hand at several vets and have seen them being used and for the amount of trouble they save, their worth it. The cat i looked after that wore them didnt seem to mind all that much. Only thing is you have to remember to change them fairly often.

Does she miss the litter box by hanging her butt in the wrong place near the box? If that's the case you could buy something to place on the floor under the litter box so that it can catch any misses. Maybe a plastic sheet and put a couple layers of newspaper on it.

when we were potty training my dog, (who is now 6 yrs. old) we put diapers on her so our house wouldn't get ruined, and it worked! she is now a well trained dog, but make sure you cut a tail hole, if there isn't one.
