Ok I have a Windows XP HP Pavilion it's about five years old and I have been trying to run a System Recovery on it but I can't find my recovery discs. Is there any other way I can run a system recovery with out the cds. Thank you so much in advance.

I'm assuming you know that doing a complete system recovery will restore your computer to the same condition it was when you first bought the computer. Doing this will cause you to lose anything you've done since then. If you're having trouble with the computer, I'd recommend that instead you do a system restore while in Safe Mode. Just tap the F8 key as the computer boots up, go into Safe Mode, and then click on "Programs", "Accessories", "System Tools", and then on "System Restore". Pick an earlier date and run the restore. Once that's done, and assuming that the restore fixed whatever problem(s) you had, make sure you back up your data. Good luck.

Doesn't XP have that within the startup options? I recall not getting any discs either.
Restart, and go into your startup options -- I can't remember what it's called but it's in there.

google it?
