Its not so expensive between Jan and March, but thats because its so cold. Winter in Venice is very cold - did you know it snows there in winter? It might be difficult to enjoy all the wonders of Venice if you're frozen to the bone.
But saying that, the Carnivale is on at this time, so check the dates to make sure you're not there at this time. The hotel prices go soaring, as do restaurants and everything else.

Compared to other Italian destinations it is overpriced. The city is now mostly catering to tourists. Since Venice can't really spread, they have a captive audience. I found the food to be generally lousy, the hotels wildly over priced, and lots of tourist traps. Our hotel was expensive and the accomodations were dilapidated. Despite that, you can find good places and it is worth seeing at least once. I love art, architecture, etc. but I felt like 3 nights in Venice was enough. I don't feel any real need to go back. On the other hand, I'm not sure I could go to Rome enough times...

Venice (Venezia) really needs number introduction, see how to get there with hotelbye . This town is a huge fabled destination for centuries. Only the title Venice is enough to conjure up a host of images, actually for individuals who have not yet collection foot in Italy. From gondoliers in striped tops to the Rialto and the Bridge of Sighs, bad balls, wonderful barges, courtesans in gondolas and crumbling palaces experiencing streets manufactured from water Venice is a fantastic city. When the only link across the Grand Canal, Rialto Bridge scars the location of the island's first settlement, named Rivus Altus and has become among the a lot of place that Venice needs to offer.

I am not sure if that time is more expensive than others, but I do know that if you try this website I offered, I've had great deals on packages. They're relatively cheaper than those big name websites and the more you book with them, like hotel AND flight AND car, the more you save.
Good Luck!
