Because as screwed up as that is, there are some circumstances that prevent them from actually being with the other (previous) woman. So they just "settle" for who they are currently with and love.

I don't think that is accurate for every man. There are men out there that commit to their marriage and to their wives. The ones that marry and love other girls are not commited at all.

Its just a guess but the men who commit to marriage & get involved with other females use marriage as a front,mask, or a way to hide secret addiction & make themselves feel better about what they are doing wrong.Marriage is looked at as being Honorable. So when men cheat or commit decieveable acts, their considered pigs, but if they dont get caught, they are still looked at as being Honorable.

It's possible for people to love two people at the same time. However, one of those people is just someone who you will care about but the relationship will never work. As my mother used to say look at the big picture, the one that they marry are the ones that probably have their backs, and possess the qualities for the long haul.

my observation, cause they need someone now, too take care of them but have not the skills to be committed to themselves and those they chose to marry. they lack self control and since they were looking for a stand in mommy first, they still search for the rite gal for them out of the marriage.

and am with the same woman, to have and to hold till

I know guy who is this way, I think for him just does not know
what he wants. never has. He will say he can love more than
one person. I have been friends with long time I think he has
about 20 girls and is married. there is something he just can not
find.
