Especially the caps worn by the general. The nazis definitely had the best military fashion during ww2! Should I buy the cap on ebay? These days it's sometimes worn by rock musicians.

I think you are right. The SS uniforms were great looking. The officers wore three quarter length leather coats. However, there are members in my family that remember what it was like to see these uniforms up close and personal. It was a frightening experience for them. The hats that you mention fit well, but a word of caution though, if you wear such a hat, some people may take a dim view of you, in that they might think you agree with the idealogy of that era.

The Nazis during Worls War II was, then, the epitome of the perfect soldier. They were practically beautiful in their attire and their uniforms are worn to be their burial clothes. They were all " dressed to kill ".
The uniforms they wore were designed to show the world that they are above average than the rest. Its cool and fashionable, but nowadays it is of bad taste.

I've always fancied one of those ankle-length Gestapo leather coats.
Funny how people get so excited about a set of clothes.........surely its the person inside that matters?
Having said that, I would have a concern about being decked out in Nazi gear and calling myself Mr. Hitler - that may just be stretching things a tad too far !

Because for a military (and a country) to psychologically condition the people to accept them being there (IE occupying a foreign country), having a professional appearance goes a long way. It's all about propaganda and appearance. That's probably why the current fascist leader (Bush) has such a hard time getting the Iraqis to accept us being there is because we don't have any cool uniforms outside maybe the Marine dress uniforms. :P

Cause black, brown and grey are authoritarian colors. They are the same colors police, and security forces wear. If you wear that hat and are not gay you may be in for some unwanted attention.
