Sorry, can't really help you there. She might need more coaching and less nagging. Or someone to exercise with. She might need better food choices available ( less fat and high fructose corn syrup and more dark, green leafy things). She might need to know that you don't need to sweat in a gym, run on hard asphalt or follow a ball on a field to exercise. Walking to school, dog-walking (for fun or profit), dancing at a party, riding a bike, going swimming, kicking someone's butt in a martial arts class- that's exercise too. Exercise should be fun. If it's not fun, you're doing the wrong thing.

It could be that she has a mother who doesn't think too highly of her. I think a great way to ease her into change would be to prepare nutritional, healthy foods, and exercise together (go walking, take up a sport together) and it could even help bring you both closer. But the most important thing you could do is let her know that you love and accept her, regardless of her weight.

the apple never falls far from the tree!! I can't believe a mother would say such horrible things. Try being supportive and helpful instead of a so evil. I am sure you have destroyed any self esteem she ever had. I hope you get what you have comming and I hope your daughter is there to witness it.

what a lovely mother you are! If you were maybe more supportive and less critical your daughter might be more motivated. Its attitudes like yours that lead to eating disorders in young people. I bet you are far from perfect!

Look at moi, look at moi Kath, get her out pounding the pavement with Kel or onto that elliptical in the front lounge room. I'm sure that Sharon can find room for her on the netball team.

If your daughter is a child, it's because you let her eat eat eat everyday and don't force her to go out to play.

If she's an adult, she makes her own choices and she has to live with them. Back off, momzilla!

Be a responsible parent. Teach her to eat right. Cook for her, get her a personal trainer, motivate her.
