Just this morning while I was feeding my rabbit I saw a pinkish spot near her eye and when I checked to see what it was I saw that it the spot was missing fur and and a red spot on the skin. The spot is not flaky or anything. She seems quite normal like eating and playing and stuff but I'm worried. What could it be and what should I do?

I have a rabbit too! and if I saw a red spot next to her eye, I would be really worried too... But first thing I would do, would be bringing her to the vet. I believe that it's the best thing to do, because then you would know straight away what she has and what it is!!!

I really do not want to scare you, and not seeing any pictures of your rabbit i could not say for sure, but have you had your rabbit vaccinated against myxomatosis? This is a 99% fatal disease which is man made to control the population of wild rabbits. It has got vastly out of control and domestic rabbits get it easily too. It causes abscesses, which start small and grow, to form all over their face. Phone your vet as soon as possible and ask for some advice. If there is no emergency line then look on the internet for any vet in any area with a helpline. Even the PDSA. I hope your rabbit is okay.

I have rabbits but have never come across this problem. One time my rabbit had a patch of hair missing from his head, but I found out that he scratched his head on a sharp object that was in his cage (don't worry, i fixed the problem). Maybe when she was grooming herself, she scrathed herself. DO NOT use any type of anibiotic cream as they can be fatal. There are some that can be used, but you need to ask a vet that is familiar with rabbits. Not all vets can properly treat rabbits so make sure that you pick a good one.
