Do You live in Ft Lauderdale...Opa Locka...anywhere within 50 miles of Miami?
If you do -
Ignore him and just go have a good time. Every Real Man loves his kids and will include them in the Superbowl hoopla or just buy em a new XBOX game to keep em busy.
If you don't -
Then what are you thinking? That is a big party for big wigs. The common man doesn't get to goto the Superbowl. Tickets are scalped for upwards of $24,000 a piece and the hotels are usually booked solid. Parties are by invitation only.
Let me enlighten you. The Superbowl is actually The Annual NFL Convention. This is where teams reward and renew sponsors. Players get togather to hangout with ex-teammates and strike endorsement deals for the next season. This is when the committee gathers to vote on the 2007 NFL Hall of Fame inductees. THIS IS A CONVENTION not just a game. Thats why there is an extra week break between the conference champoinship games.
Only party girls (aka Whores) make a pilgrimage to events like that without a ticket. You gotta be willing to "Get Your Knees Dirty" if you think you're going to get into any of those parties without being a celebrity.
A Man is never jealous if the wife is outta the house during a Big Game. He won't even know you're gone. His objection is to what he knows you'll be exposed to. He's a man and he knows. Believe that!
If you're a local then fine...go people watching....Goto the NFL experience Expo. safe events for locals. Otherwise just stay home and hand him a beer.

The need to make the playoffs first, you know - TO doesn't mean anything but trouble. He wasn't even responsible for getting Philly to the Super Bowl. Both the Giants and especially the Redskins got better, and the Eagles are going to be better than last year. That being said, I think the Cowboys CAN make the playoffs - probably as a Wild Card - but they are not ready to win the Super Bowl.

Like a few people have said, if you're within driving distance of Miami, then that's fine...but other than that, it's kind of ridiculous. Think about it. Would you let your husband spend a ridiculous amount of money on hotel and airfare to go to Miami - just to party and leave you behind with the kids? The Mardi Gras example above was the best example. If you had tickets to the actual game, that'd be a different story. Then I'd say he's probably jealous you have tickets and he doesn't. Also, and please don't get offended by this...but are you even a football fan?

He should let you go.
Then again, if you don't have tix, its obvious that you're going with your friends for a party. His concern is legitimate. South Beach is notorious for the party scene, and it ain't married couples hon. Put yourself in HIS shoes. Would he dump the kids on you so he could party with friends in New Orleans during Mardi Gras? If so, then its all good. Just make sure you have nop problem with it when the shoe's on the other foot.

Bad idea all around!
If you don't have any tickets to get into the game, then you have no reason to go to Miami.
Just know your priorities stand, and you should be good.

i think he is jealous that you are going withought him and to add on to it that you are leaving him with the kids. nothing is worse for a dad is that on super bowl night he has to be distracted by the kids. but hey go! do what YOU want to do

He shouldn't be selfish. If you have always been there for him and the kids then you have earned the trip. Good Luck
